I got a call from an Atlanta based tree company doing work in our area because of hurricane Isaac. They said the home owner hired a bee guy who came out the day before and injected dust into the cavity of a large water oak. He was apparently there for ten minutes and promised no bees would be present the next day.
His fee was $300.00.
He induced a swarm which I wound up catching in this video. The swarm seems healthy and in fact I combined it with a queenless swarm and a queenless colony both of which I caught/removed yesterday.
The main cavity where the dusted hive was still had bees flying all around and I had to make sense out of that as well. The tree, the fence and the ground around the tree had white dust everywhere.
The tree company learned a lot about honey bees this day and developed a new appreciation for them. I was happy to help them and the event left me feeling good as well.

Removing A Swarm Of Honey Bees For A Georgia Tree Company (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wo1mqAARFsk#ws)
I glad there was a queen in there after the hive got dusted. And in the first minute of the video, that is how a Georgia boy climbs a tree to set a deer stand.
Good save for sure, hope they make it.
I like the pic at the last of the video with the fella waaaay out on the end of that bent tree.....yeee haaaw!!
Allen, only problem with climbing trees that aren't to be cut down with spikes is it hurts the tree, so I am told.
G, that dude was an animal up in that tree! He obviously feels very comfortable standing upright 40', 50' whatever up there next to the clouds.

the key is never look down till you stop climbing.
Its the sudden stops when you hit the limbs on the way down not the fall its self. ;)
john
People always say don't look down but the first thing on your mind is looking down. ;)
