Hi Guys,
Looking at purchasing about 300 hives w/bees from a friend. They come with 5 excellent Perm Site sites, what do you think is a fair price for them?
I think it depends on a few factors such as how many supers, quality, age of hives etc but around $25,000 to $35,000. Ben
Retail price for 8 frame super, new floor, lid and frames approx. $70.00. 300 hives about $$21.000.00. The bees which you either split, swarm catch or cut out must be worth $50.00 each. Another $15,000.00 for 300. Ready to go working hives reckon you would be looking at $30,000 plus. Good luck.
150 to 200 for a 10 frame double is the going rate in SA in good boxes i just bought 9 hives made up of 27 boxes 4 $25 a super
Hi Eco,
just wondering if you went ahead with purchasing these 300 hives and if so, how they're going for you?

i rekon the perm sites are actually worth more than the bees are, without good sites bees just go hungry i think thats half the battle with beekeeping
Just re-reading old posts and came across this one which was of interest back then. This is a current item on Ebay for what it is worth.

So what is the real value of something a person wishes to sell. e.g. Joe has a car for sale at $10,000 , until he gets that price it is worth $0.00 and that is when the bargaining starts.
I get $ 250 for a
A single medium hive with new gear packed full.
But that's one at a time
