Title: Charcoal gray pollen
Post by: BeeMaster2 on October 10, 2012, 07:05:30 PM
My bees are bringing in charcoal gray pollen. I see it in their pollen baskets and in the comb in the OB hive. I am in NE FL. Anyone know what plant it is coming from?

I don't know but a guy in my local club has told me that golden rod made black honey.  So it maybe that.  I am also kinda new.

You sure it was pollen or could it have been propolis? I havent ever saw grey pollen (not saying there isnt any, just havent ever saw it before)

It is pollen. They are storing it in the comb around brood, inside the honey and they brought it in in their pollen baskets.
