Title: Supered swarm March 9 now what ?
Post by: Rob Sandberg on March 30, 2013, 07:39:06 PM
Well the swarm I asked about has filled 9.25 frames in deep super with honey. Some capped some uncapped.  A small amount of burr comb at frame 4 not much. So everything was filled with honey in super added March 9' did not check bottom as the girls started to really make noise, not happy. So do I add another super or let them be? There is not a queen excluder in place or on the horizon. Advice please and thanks in advance for your help

So there were bees everywhere, on inside of telescoping cover , both sides of inner cover , solid across tops of frames , between frames. I did not go to bottom but not seeing any brood above is nothing I should think, worry about?
Thanks

You had two deep boxes before adding the super? I see you keep said a couple of times you didn't check the bottom.

So please forgive me if I use the wrong words/ terminology. I now have two deep boxes, second deep installed March 10 with 10 frames drawn out. I believe I will add a third today or Monday.
