Title: A Good Day! :)
Post by: Georgia Boy on March 31, 2013, 09:11:39 PM
All and all not a bad day.

Just finished all my boxes. I have enough for 6 complete hives. That is if each only has 4 med supers. :)

I plan on starting with 4 hives and reserving  the other 8 supers in case, by some miracle of god, I might need them for extra honey flow. Being my first year I really doubt I will need them.

Hope to have my first pkg of bees this next Saturday.

Also hung my swarm trap this afternoon. Don't have any lemon grass oil yet but thought I'd hang it anyway. Hope to have oil this week.

Anyway not a bad day.

Sounds like you have been a very busy person today, if you have some old comb you could melt it and brush it on the inside of your trap, bees love the smell of freshly melted wax.

No, but you could order a block from Brushy Mtn. if you want or melt a foundation or two.

6 mediums per hive. If you end up filling them all, you would be way ahead of the norm especially starting from packages. Being in Georgia, you might fill 4 mediums in a hive or 2. Good luck.
