Title: Having trouble getting plastic entrance feeder back into hive after refilling
Post by: emarketwiz on April 09, 2013, 11:04:35 PM
I just picked up two nucs yesterday and they are in my two ten frame hives.  I was advised to feed sugar water for the first week.  I picked up a couple of plastic entrance feeders from Brushy Mountain.  I mad some sugar water and filled the feeders about halfway and placed them in the hive entrance board (made for these feeders).  They consumed it all today so I went to refill tonight and there are so many bees at the feeder entrance board that is is hard to get the feeder back in without hurting some bees.  Is they a method to do this that is safer for the bees?  Thanks for your help!

Do it at night while they are all inside.
