Title: How many frames of bees at dandelion bloom will likely swarm at black locust?
Post by: twb on May 05, 2013, 05:32:06 PM
If we see a hive with X number of frames of bees at dandelion bloom, that hive will likely swarm at black locust bloom.  What number is X for you normally? -- I realize the variables are numerous -- Please specify deep or medium frames.

I would have to have more specified variables before I would try to attempt an answer. d2

There is no such formula.

Only way is to look into hives and if you see queen cells, it is a sign of swarming.

Swarming is most affected by bee strain or race, how swarming sensitive they are. Carniolan swarms earlier than Italians.
