Print Page - 2 brood boxes, do i need to check the bottom one?

i have 2 brood boxes, the second one on top is newly added. now that i have the second one, when i open the hive do i need to take the top one off and check the bottom brood box or can i pretty much leave the bottom one alone now?

As the top one progresses, they will arrange everything from the top down. The bottom one may be packed to the limit, or may be totally empty. YES, check the bottom box.
