Title: Swarm trap question
Post by: Arkwood on May 26, 2013, 02:37:44 PM
When using a scented swarm trap, is it ok to place around the same area your current hives are at? Just making sure I won't run into any issues.

No it does not hurt to have one close by in case your hives swarm and give you a chance not to lose any of your bees. A hive can get away on you when you have a flow of nectar and could build up quicker than you know. I try to inspect once a week usually on Saturdays and keep things pretty good that way. Happy bee keeping!  ;)
