Which patties are most popular? Pre-made, ones you mix yourself and which ones do you find are most readily accepted/eaten?
I know some colonies don't eat supplemental feedings , I'm just looking not to waste money trying to find one.
Thanks!
if you dont need a lot buy pre-made-cant buy the ingredients for what the patties cost

Bees do not eate patty during summer when there are pollen enough on fields.
.
a good time to give them a patty in my area is right after the first honey pull--the bees need
to be recharged with protein find it helps with the dip in brood production that comes with
bees depleting protein reserves from extensive foraging of nectar--it also gives the queen a
health boost and queen lose is not as ominous-- ;) RDY-B

Our short summer gives all the time pollen. At least patty does not help.
i have noticed that a swarm eates patty.
Australians have researched much protein feeding during yield season, because some plants does not give proper pollen: kiwi, alfa alfa.
The pollen patties I purchased this spring are from Global. I fed the high protein patties and the bees seemed to love them. They seemed to give the hives a boost in early brood production too.

The small hive beetles love them all...
