Title: Bee sting on arm temperature
Post by: Dr. B in Wisconsin on July 14, 2013, 03:37:03 PM
I was stung on the arm the other day and it was red at about a 4 inch diameter area and it felt warm to the touch so I got out my thermal temperature gun and the red area was 4-5 degrees hotter than the area that was not red. Ya Ya Ya useless information, but I work in inspection and with alot of numbers and temperature readings so I had to know.

No, that's very cool Dr. B. Never thought to do that on someone, will have to do that on my wife next time as I don't get warm spots on myself any longer when stung.

I don't get reactions any more also.  Good thing because I have taken one between the eyes twice in the last week.  Got to say that spot hurts like hell

Actually, I take that back, I do believe I get a warm spot on the ear when stung there. Ear stings hurt something fierce!

I like that.

I really enjoy stings around the eyebrows or on the side of the neck - jugular sort of area ...NOT!!!!
I suspect that I get a bit hot under the collar and the red bump is noticeably warmer than the surrounding skin, but I haved never measured the difference.

I have had 2 stings inside of my nose. Pretty bad when you have to ask your buddy to pick your nose.  :-D
So bad it makes your eyes tear. Luckily there was no swelling.
