Title: Angry sound when flying
Post by: GSF on July 25, 2013, 10:35:42 PM
Ever so often when I'm looking at my bees one will come along and sound so much louder than the others. Almost an angry sound with somewhat a darting flying pattern. Could this be a drone? a warning? robber? or just a bad driver? The other bees will be just humming along.

My observation is drones make that kind of sound.

I agree.  Drones sound louder to me.

this time of year the drones are getting fatter and the girls making them get out and do something. so they kind of have a little more wieght load to care so they have to flap harder. at least that what my wife says I sound like after a holiday dinner and taking out the trash. :-P :-\ :-*

Yep, drones. I've sat and watched the bees many times and hear a Piper Cub coming in for a landing.
