Title: Not a GA beekeeper yet
Post by: thenorsepole on August 16, 2013, 10:00:46 AM
Currently gathering supplies and woodwork for a full on "jump in with both feet" this spring. I have a lot to learn until then so I'll be lurking for a bit then asking potentially dumb questions.

Welcome to the forum.   Bears are a pain in the mountains, fence in your hives when you get them.   And ask away on the question.

Welcome to the forum, thenorsepole.  There are lots of threads and videos here than can help.  You may also want to find a local bee club, they can bee a big help to.  Good luck

Joe

Welcome, norsepole! Have you taken a beekeeping workshop/class yet? The winter "off" season is when they are typically offered.

Thanks to all for the welcome. So far my prep has included this and other forums, YouTube vids (Fatbeeman is entertaining) and reading - lot's of reading!! Will start looking for classes and a local beek who's willing to take a newbee under his wing.

Welcome!

..and I envy your location! Beautiful place up there. I've had bees since Jun 7th and I'm not an AL beekeeper yet either. Take my word, you will find yourself sitting in front of the hives just watching.
