Is there any interest in having an informal get together for Melbourne beemaster members?
I am thinking on a weeknight, somewhere central, perhaps a pub (familiy friendly) for dinner and a chat, trade honey, tell stories, ask questions, that sort of thing.
A motorbike forum I belong to does a similar thing a couple of times a year and it's always popular.
Thoughts?
Cheers.

Hi Paul,
Don't really have time at the moment, but maybe another time.
Paul put up a venue, date and time and ask for response. One almost certain starter from Gippsland. We could invite the Queen Bee Hunter from Charters Towers as a guest. or Schawee from Louisiana.
I'm thinking Wednesday September 25th, around 7:00 pm.
I would like to pick somewhere central that's easy for everyone to get to. Just not quite sure where that is as yet :-D I'll have a think about it and get back to you.
That date looks a good possibility for me Paul.

I spent 28 years trying to get out of Melbourne. 2 extra hours could well kill me.
But if you are up this way next weekend, the bee meeting is going to be at our place.

Geoff,
My Yinnar Fiddlehead tee shirt arrived in the mail today. I shall have to wear it in absentia instead of going to Melbourne :) Thank you Geoff, I love it. I'll be thinking of you mexicans braving those traffic lights and freezing weather.

Here's my suggestion for a venue, I've not been there but my wife had a work function there and said it was very good:
The Old England Hotel
459 Lwr Heidelberg Road
Heidelberg, VICTORIA, 3084
Seems reasonably central, not too hard to get to.
Not sure if I'll go ahead with a booking as there hasn't been much interest. (except for Geoff, thanks mate)
I will PM Squidink and OzBuzz and see if I can drum up a bit more interest. Anyone else I should be messaging?
Does not look good Paul. I was looking forward to it. Was thinking we could hold it in an air conditioned lounge at Tullamarine where the Queen Hunter could join us without seeing the traffic lights and crowds.. Once the meet was over the Hunter could just hop back on the next flight to the outback.
Certainly looks like a bit of a dud Geoff.
Might put it on hold for a while, I have a forum member from Germany coming to stay with us December & January, perhaps we could do somthing then.
Just let us know Paul and will try to make it next time.
Nice try, Geoff, but unfortunately Tulla Airport is within the boundaries of Melbourne. I might catch some disease.
By the way, a jar of Superior Queensland Honey is awaiting your collection in Moonee Ponds.
