winter is approaching do you think I should quit worrying about drawing foundation and start worrying about winter stores?

Yes stop worrying about drawing comb right now.  They WON'T do it.

Is the goldenrod flow over in NJ?

Remove any excess UN drawn or emp[ty frames and begin feeding so bees will fill every available cell around broodnest.....OR.....if you have a lot of empties (drawn comb) fill them them (use a small paint brush) with thick syrup and put them back into your hives.

Your bees will LOVE you for it  :)

The days are getting shorter & cooler, the bees need to get the syrup cured and capped. Feed em the heaviest syrup that you can cook up.
