Title: amazon kindle and hive tracks
Post by: danno on October 12, 2013, 10:50:59 AM
Has anyone use a kindle fire to run hive tracks.  I don't use hive tracks because it makes no sense to me to write everything down on paper and then rewrite it in my laptop when I get home.  The current model kindle is wifi but they are now coming out with a 4G model kindle that I could take to my yards. I have never used a fire so I don't know how user friendly they are.

Danno,
I've never used the fire, but would assume it's fairly user friendly and similar to most tablets.  I use hivetracks and have both an iPhone and iPad, but have never actively tried to enter stuff while in the yard.  Instead, what works for me is I use the audio recorder on my iPhone, in between inspections moving from hive to hive I'll record a brief snippet recapping what I observed in the previous 1,2, or 3 hives.  Later, whenever time allows, I'll play them back while sitting at my PC and make my entries into hivetracks.
