Title: what happen to my crisco?
Post by: dprater on December 01, 2013, 07:24:13 AM
Always something interesting going on with bees. I have SBBs and still keep a check for V mites even this late in the year. One hive I just left the corrugated board with crisco under the hive after I checked it after 3 days (just a few mites). I went back after 2 weeks and found 15 dead SHB on the board but no crisco, clean as board (pun) I mean clean, I had of crisco caked on the board. So what happened to the crisco, the SHBs ODed on crisco LOL, bees ate it or what?

Small hive beetles love Crisco.
It's like a magnet to them.
