Title: Checked hives
Post by: NCbeekeep on February 02, 2014, 05:04:00 PM
I checked on my hives today. As of today I have lost one out of five of my hives. I believe three out of the remaining four are strong. I am hoping I can get all of them through the winter though. They all have a good food supply. It is another month until the maple will be blooming. God willing we will have a good beekeeping year.

I am 135 mile east of you and the maples are blooming. My hives all have fresh nectar in them.

No, but they do haul a little shine now and then.   :-D

Did you know 4 gallon jugs fit nicely in an empty deep on a live deep. Looks just like a normal 2 deep hive. Have never been stopped and checked.

That is a better plan than Tickle's on Moon Shiners where he hauled it in a camper. I bet no one would check you. Ha! Ha!.
