Title: Hello from Kansas
Post by: KansasB on February 09, 2014, 09:42:48 PM
I'm reading everything I can get my hands on as I plan to get started this spring with a couple hives.  I've always been fascinated by bee's and just never had the time or motivation to take this step.  I had entomology projects as a kid in 4H and went on to study Agriculture at K-State with a degree in Crop Protection and so continued in following entomology.  But I ended up working in the computer industry for the last 30 years.  I'm a avid vegetable gardener and look forward to figuring out how to manage hives inside a  city.  I've signed up for a beekeeping workshop with the local association as well.  I'm very interested in the Top Bar Hive, though it seems to be controversial, so I'll probably do something more socially acceptable to the local beekeepers and make my first hives Langstroth.  Excited to follow the Beemaster forums and learn from the wise ones. ;)

Welcome to the forum, KansasB.  Sounds like you are getting off to a good start.  I am the only one in my local club with a TBH, and the only one with some foundationless frames in my Langstroth hives.  If I build another TBH, I think I will make it with Lang frames.  I do get to rambling.  Good luck to you.
