Hi All, I'm Ed, from Oak Hill FL, and I just ordered an "Ozark Cedar Hives" 10 frame, 4 medium super, Cedar hive, and I was wanting info about what species queen and worker to buy online, and have them shipped to me, thanks, Ed
Everyone has their own opinion on what bee to use. The question now is at this time if you can get some. My bees are a cross with most all. The last couple of years I have put Cordovan and Russian Queen in my hives.

Thanks Joe, Ed
As Joe stated everyone has their preference. I'm getting 6 packages from Wilbanks Apiary. They sell 3 banded Italians. I don't know about the availability but their phone number is 912-739-4820. They're a large operation located in Claxton Ga. The worst you could do is call.

Thanks RH, I just ordered a Cordovan Queen and 3 pounds of workers from Shamrock, not available till May 7, Thanks, Ed
Sounds good. My pick up date is May 24. Have fun.
I'm getting some from Lookout Mountain (Alabama), pick up date is 29 March. I don't know if they have any left. Russian/Italian mix.
Thanks guys, I'll check back when I get thing setup, thanks, Ed
do you have to buy a queen?
down here we just bait, catch swarms, do cutouts
to bait for a swarm beg borrow some old comb and rubber band that to the foundationless frame.
I use half with plastic foundation. half none (foundationless frame).
15 drops lemon grass oil 5 on the right 5 on the left side and five on the top.
some say that maybe too many. this formula works for me. mine are still here.

Thanks Jay, when I get a little more experience I'll try that, I found a place 100 miles away, in a couple months I'll drive up there and pick them up, at Deb's Bee supply in Jacksonville FL, thanks again, Ed
I have heard of a few Cordovan bees that weren't real friendly, but I think most are. My hive of them are great. I have checked them in shorts and a tee shirt, and almost no smoke. Hope yours are that gentle also. Good luck
Joe
It's up to you. For climate I would use Carpathian bees
o.molchanov; Welcome to the forum. We're praying for you & your country.
have you thought about a swarm trap?
you have a hive box now.
put 15 drops LGO 5 to each side and the top allow time to absorb
worst that could happen is you don't catch one, or you do and will need another box
just remember to look inside at 30 days from installation cause you possibly need to add another box

Hey Ed, you might try D & J Apiary in Umatilla, Fl. 352-669-4233
I just picked up two nucs on Wednesday. They also have a good
supply of products in their store.
I just a little west of you in Osteen
