I was paging through my beekeepers news mag when I had to look twice at a small advert for a device that is placed on top of a beehive with a hose that you then strap to your nose so you can sit an breath the air coming from the hive. Has anyone heard of anything like this and what do you think of it?

Lots of info on this .
Not buyin' it! :buttkick:
Yeap, I can see trying that. The bees would find the hole, and up your nose they would go. :-D
Joe
Yeah, Joe. That would open your sinuses, wouldn't it? :devilbanana: :lau:
I think whoever thought that up had too much time on their hands.
ever try sticking your head inside the hive?
NOT ME
on the hands is bad enough

I get my fair share Beehive air therapy every spring /summer /and early fall . I can even take a frame of honey out of the freezer and sniff it if I want. Any thing to make money . :)
I did a bit of research on this and found this web site: http://www.zelinc.com/?lng=eng&vie=cnt&gr1=pon&gr2=apit (http://www.zelinc.com/?lng=eng&vie=cnt&gr1=pon&gr2=apit)
The device is a rather complicated setup with fan and face mask that fits on top of the hive (no bees get into the device at all) looks like a nice way to make money off desperate, sick, people looking for relief from lung issues...
and then again, there just may be something to it.
I'm surprised how many skeptics we have here. If you can smell it, you are taking it in, that's a fact..... And not taking any side here, (yet anyway) I for one know much many good things come from a hive. I also know that many people get benefit from aroma therapy, so I say, give it a chance at least.
People making money off sniffing bee farts.
What will they think of next....eating bee spit :-D
I've heard of it and am keeping an open mind about it. However, bees also have diseases, some of which can be identified by their smell, ie. American foulbrood. AF will cause an odor strong enough to be noticeable at the entrance to the experienced and observant beekeeper. With this new method of inhaling beehive air, one wonders if the beekeeper could also infect himself with some pathogen that otherwise would be avoided. Bees fly thousand of miles to many locales that we normally don't visit thoroughly enough to get their dangerous pathogens..... Still needs considerable study in my opinion. OMTCW
Kind of sounds like the schemes that I get in the mail every day, you know the ones that you never want to think about answering.
Jim
Satch, keep your bees off the beans. We are already eating the bee spit. That's how honey is made.
Joe
Idee you'll think snake oil when you get a snot full bees cause you forget to check the screen
There are stranger things than this.
The breathing in is okay, it's the exhaling that'll get yo but tore up!
If you have a FB account go to Beemaster FB and check out the pictures that have been posted of the total body bee therapy house that has been posted......
