Title: hello from NE Illinois
Post by: pioneerbees on March 08, 2014, 11:44:26 AM
Hi, still-newish beekeeper here, going through my first winter with bees--what a winter to start with! I had two hives going into winter but am now down to one little bitty hive. I'm concerned about making missteps that will ruin my hive's survival chances, so I'm here to learn as much as I can!

Welcome to the forum.   :cheer: I suggest you change your profile so you are not hopeless lost and we can better help you in the future. (town and state)

We are just having our first day of 50+ degrees without the nights going into the 20s so my girls are getting their pollen patty and 1:1 sugar water today. They have been getting candy canes since the beginning of February (they love them).

Good luck with your bees. You might also consider looking for a beekeepers clubs near you.  -Mike

Welcome to the forum, pioneerbees.  There are lots of good  people here and willing to help.  When you have a question, just give it a post.  You may want to join your local bee club also.  Good luck to you and your bees.
