Title: extractors
Post by: Brother Dave on March 14, 2014, 10:55:48 PM
any advice on who makes an extractor that is quality for a small apiary. I use med frames and 4 to 8 per load would work well for me.
the 4/8 extractor at Mann lake is confusing it shows a partial picture to show how it is loaded. is anyone out there using that extractor does it work well?

I bought the Maxant 3100P, technically it will hold 9 frames, 6 mediums and 3 deeps...are 9 mediums.. but 6 are extracted radially and 3 tangentially, So, I don't bother with the 3 tangential and simple do 6 at a time instead...which I think is what most folks with strictly mediums do.

Regardless, great little extractor and I think widely accepted as the nicest of this class of extractors....thicker metal, availability of parts, etc. etc.

Also, they were offering free shipping, but I'm afraid it may have ended in February.

Not sure about this item but most orders over $100 are free shipping. I just looked and there is a 10% off sale going on right now.

Dadant or Maxant you can't go wrong with either one. Either one will out last several bee keepers.
