I have bought my bees at singing cedars apiary in Orwell Vermont for the past three years, approximately a 11/2-2 hour ride from Amsterdam. You could also but them at Betterbee in Greenwich but will pay much more.
My suggestion is wherever you are going to buy your bees that you reserve them ASAP. Soon you won't be able to get any anywhere, it's been a rough winter' I have lost 5 of my 7 hives this winter

You can check Craigslist and find people nearby that sells bees. Here's a place in Kingston, NY (http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/grd/4301186800.html) that sells packages in late March and early April.

If you're looking for nucs, then hvac is right about Singing Apiary.

Mann Lake is still taking orders, I believe but you'll have to pick them up in PA.

I run an ad in my local paper for swarms and cut-outs.  Works great.  Cheaper than packages.
