Title: Proper Bee Space Measurements
Post by: RHBee on April 02, 2014, 09:37:18 AM
What is bee space? I think it's anything over 3/8" they burr anything under 1/4" they propolize. Is this correct?

Close enough. 3/8" is not exact as there are different size bees. Russian bees are larger then Italian but they will both propolize what they do not want even if it is 3/8" (ie between side of a frame and the wall if they are not using it.) Sometimes I think they have the tree sap and do not know what to do with it so they just say 'lets stick it to him.' At least my bees do that!  -Mike
