Title: mouse guard folded in half
Post by: wouldliketobee on April 07, 2014, 12:53:23 AM
Went out to remove mouse guards today and apparently a raccoon or possum folded one of them in half, the mouse guards are thin metal angle but not that easy to fold, has anyone else had this happen in non-bear country. The hives had some sugar on the bottom board and on the ground where I cleaned out the bottom of the hives last week , I was short on time so I left sugar there on the ground next year I will definitely clean the area before I leave. I will put the trail camera on my hives tomorrow.

Probably a skunk, go and get some carpet tack strip and screw it to the outer edge of the bottom boards to get them out of the habit of messing with the hives.

Another thought is to fold up some chicken wire.
You have to make a box about 3 inches high and a foot long.
Then place on ground in front of entrance.
Makes their footing unsure and they hate to step into the holes.
