Title: So far so good...
Post by: bwdenen on April 09, 2014, 01:38:12 AM
Made it through the winter here in Ohio with only one lost hive.  I feel pretty good about that.  It's pretty wet here, when I went out to put on some more syrup, there was a small lake, literally 10 inches deep surrounding my hive stands.  Don't feel so good about that.  Luckily they were high enough so no water got inside.  This is my first year at this location and when we set things up there was no clue there would be so much standing water.  Looking forward to the flow to start and get back into the swing of things.  Missed the bees over this ridiculous winter.

Congrats and Good Luck!
It sounds like you might have to move to higher ground so you don't have wet feet when inspecting the hives, on the plus side the water might keep nasties away from your bees.  :-D
