Title: Bees found Dead
Post by: centralparkbees on May 22, 2014, 03:02:52 AM
Hi beekeepers,

Yesterday i was inspecting some of my Top Bar hives and i was surprised to find some of my bees are dead and others are still alive.

I did the setup of this Top Bar hive like 2 weeks ago and i took one of a bee swarm from my trees and i transferred them to my hive. I wonder what is the cause of this dead?!

In my bee yard, if you find dead bees they are usually the result of robbing or pesticide.  Were they dead in the comb, on the ground, in the hive?  I suppose if the bees got too hot, they could also die.

There are always some dead bees.  I can see workers moving out bees almost everytime I look in a hive.  But it is a small amount.  Can you tell us how many we are talking about?
