Title: a visit from some of my girls
Post by: Spear on May 27, 2014, 02:32:59 PM
The other day it was such a lovely sunny day that I opened all - but one - of the windows to my 3rd floor apartment to air it out a bit. I have a small hive down below in my garden and a few of the girls decided to pay me a little visit, flying in and out the windows and finally hitting the one closed window, buzzing around till I can help them out only to have them fly back in a different window. I really could not understand why they were coming in until I finally spotted the bottle of lemon grass oil on the table, it had fallen over and leaked a bit. So I guess I had turned my apartment into the worlds biggest swarm trap - LOL!
P.S: My  living room is also full of new frames with foundation...

I like my bees, but I don't want them moving in.  ha,ha  That's one thing I like about being out in the country.  I have a big shed that I keep all my bees stuff in, supers, frames, wood working equipment, extractor, suit and the rest.  Good luck to you and your bees, Spear.

Thanks.
Luckily I only have 1 hive on my garden the others are on my mothers garden (10 hives) and on a property about 5 min drive from me (2 hives)...
So I have 13 in total right now...
