Title: Late night drones
Post by: Dange on June 17, 2014, 10:45:15 PM
I was put trimming around my hive tonight and watching them of course.  I then noticed a drone leaving.  It was 9:30 pm.  I thought they only left during the day.  Just another cool observation.

I've seen drones cruising the hives near twilight like that. Makes you wonder if the hive they left had run out of beer or something.....  :-D

That is surprising. My daughter was checking all of my hives around 7:00 PM Monday night. I told her it was too late for them to bee out. She didn't believe me and continued looking. She never did find one out of 13 hives.
I wonder if the bees kicked him out. Seems like the wrong time of the year for that. Are you in a dearth.

we are currently having a good flow of clover.  The bees have been working it real well.

Reality Check;  They are bugs no telling what tthey're going to do.  I had one on my sidewalk last night @ 22:00hrs. My pooch got stung just for sniffing it.
