Hi Guys, Am new to the forum and bee keeping. I have a 100 acre farm about 2 hrs drive inland from Brisbane in Australia which currently is mostly cleared and intended for stock. I have three years to go to retirement (am in Explosives Tech/Marketing) and am setting up the place for the lifestyle. As they say - the good life not the easy life. I want to include a degree of diversification and one of the elements is for the introduction of hives. The are is rich in alfalfa and eucalyptus so has the potential to be fairly productive. In addition it is a dry sub-tropic with winters getting to about 3 degrees C (38F) on occasion - so multiple honey flows are possible. I am hoping to pick up as much info as possible on the forum and am in the process of joining the local club
Lots of info here on this site and welcome to the forum.
Welcome Hiduelan. Sounds like a wonderful plan.

I am in the same boat as you. 42 acre farm, a few cows, 50 chickens, bees and a pig. I hope to retire in about 3 years.
