Title: Hi from Massachusetts
Post by: Veggiebee on September 15, 2014, 08:15:55 PM
Hi I am a new Beekeeper, this year.  Interested in natural beekeeping.  I grow organic veggies and hope to raise bees in a similar manner.

Welcome to Beemaster. Start looking and order your bees now. If you want to have bees with no chemicals, find someone who sells bees who does not treat their bees.

I am in Dartmouth.
I actually have bees now but would like to get more as I am a member at a community garden and they have asked me to keep bees there.
I am intending to be treatment free so any leads on sources would be appreciated.  My bees came from Wolf Creek Apiaries via Goldstar bees in Maine.  I thought I was getting bees from the " north"   Which seemed important at the time.  So far they have been great, so I am hopeful for the winter.
I also caught a swarm and inherited the hive they came from.  I have made plenty of mistakes but hopefully things smoothed out in time for them to prepare for winter.

You are fortunate to have bees in MA. You have many active clubs in your state and the Mass Beekeepers assoc puts on a great field day every June.
Welcome to the forum. :)
