Title: A Hive"s Value ?
Post by: BEEMAN on September 19, 2014, 10:17:27 PM
Just trying to get your comments on what you consider a fair price for a hive with bottom board, deep super with frames, drawn comb, full of bees, and top cover. All hives are full of
wild bees, either swarms or bees from cut outs. I find that these wild bees are extremely more productive that the bee packages that I use to purchase. The hives are one to two years old and doing very well. Can I get your suggestions on what the value of a hive with this is worth as I have a man who is interested in purchasing some of my hives. I appreciate your comments.

Tough question. In Michagan, in Sept., 25.00. in March, 250.00.

In N.C., in Sept., 40.00, in March, 200.00

In Louisiana, in Sept. 100.00  In March, 200.00.

Just my opinion. Others will differ.

You would do better finanacially selling them in the spring.  A thing is worth what another will pay.  Iddee is about on the money for singles.  Good luck with it.
