Title: A pleasant sight
Post by: rookie2531 on September 28, 2014, 08:05:26 PM
I saw the girls on the goldenrod!

I have been looking ever since they started to bloom and never saw a bee on it.
Well today, I saw everything on them, bees, wasps and even weird looking bees that sort of looked like hybrid yellow jackets. So I took a walk down to an empty field about 1000' away and saw the whole field booming with goldenrod and bees all over them. What a great feeling I got from this.

I think that this flow just started here not too long ago, here in N.E. KY.

Rookie,
Have you noticed a major change in the smell of your apiary?

Yes I have. Most say it smells bad, but to me it smells good. Maybe, because I know its a good thing and subconsciously feel it. But I like the smell of marigolds too and most don't like that either.
