Title: Bees are abscomding.
Post by: capt44 on October 05, 2014, 08:32:10 AM
Since I have been lay'd up healing after sugery I had 3 hives of bees to just leave.
No dead bees, not a sign of where they went.
I did some checking and there have bee 9 hives in this county that have left recently.
Some had honey stores.
Has anyone else had this happen this year?

None left, but I had 3 or 4 swarms since the first of August.

Yes Capt. I have several new hives just start to get established and up and move. One of them had a good unmarked queen and moved into a nuc that was set up as a swarm trap and had a handfull of bees and a marked queen. That marked queen ended up with a full nuc of bees.
