Title: What's flowering in your neck of the woods? Victoria
Post by: OzBuzz on October 24, 2014, 08:28:56 AM
Hey Folks, what's flowering, or due to flower, in your neck of the woods? I was down Mornington Peninsula today and the coastal tea tree is going off!

Tea Tree has been flowering in Barwon Heads for a couple of weeks now.  And very spectacular too, but I didn't get the impression that the bees were working it much during the first week or so. Due to inspect in the next couple of days, so hoping for some filled frames.

How would one label the honey ?   We have in Gippsland Ti-tree, Hawthorn, Apple, pink flowering gum, camelias, lavendar, bottle-brushes and what else. A test to pick out the dominant nectar !!.

Things are moving Wombat.  Camelias are well out here as well as all the self sown Prunus along the roadsides.
