Title: Salutations from West Alabama
Post by: EmilyzBeez on January 12, 2015, 01:20:51 PM
Hi! My name is Emily. I live in a very small town in West Alabama. I am a music instructor among other jobs.

My family and I have discussed getting bees for several years. Then in 2014, I received several books on bee keeping and the promise of my own hive for my birthday in July. Since then I have been doing research and becoming more and more fascinated with these tiny creatures. They are amazing!

My sister and brother-in-law bought a house from someone who kept bees and he left a small hive for me. I am very excited about the prospect of keeping bees.

I look forward to learning from experienced bee keepers and the bees themselves.

Thank you!

Welcome from central Alabama. This is a great site for learning and asking questions. I would suggest you try to get your bees asap. The spring flow will start in a month or two and before you know it the bees will be sold out. I got my first package in June and had to feed sugar water for the next few months. I think nectar is much better for them.
