Title: Hello from Southern Kentucky!
Post by: TarlsQtr on January 15, 2015, 10:52:56 AM
I am new to beekeeping, having just purchased my first bees and queens to be delivered in late April. I will be spending the interim buying/assembling the rest of the equipment and continuing to read, watch videos, taking a beekeeping class, and preparing for my ladies.

I look forward to benefiting from the collected wisdom on this forum!

Thanks for the welcome, Jay and whiterhino!

Jay,

We have a club the next county over that I will be joining.

I will start as a keeper but hope to be a "getter" as I become more experienced and comfortable with them.

I am probably overdoing the equipment, as I would much rather have something I never need than need and do not have. That includes a full suit, at least at first. I started by buying two hives to get started. Once I get up and running, I want to build my own. I just felt that seeing a couple properly constructed would be beneficial before trying to build them myself and doing it wrong. I figure a good starter is the Kentucky Special at Kelley's.
