Title: "That is so cool dad!"
Post by: JConnolly on April 04, 2015, 04:14:31 PM
"That is sooo cool dad!"

That is what my  youngest (12 year old) daughter kept saying over and over again this morning as she helped hive our bees.

She sat  at the window just watching them for a couple of hours after.  :)

Get 'em while they're young.  My daughters both grown when I got my 1st colonies.
"aren't they cool, girls?"  "um, yeah dad.  Sure.  Cool   "

Welcome to the forum. My grand-babies have helped since they were 6 years old (with their own protection) and they like the extraction part the best.  -Mike

Both my teen daughters love the bees.    One is my #1 helper.  The other was 'afraid', but once we hived the first packages and she saw how awesome it is, she frequently shows up to see what's going on in the hive when we're inspecting.   And that's even after a sting.

I'm pretty sure bee love is contagious.
