Like the guy from Tx, it's hard to find any beekeepers that are close. There are no associations to join unless I drive 2 hours up in Corydon, IN. At least that's the only one I've found so far. I just got two beehives this spring. I love those bees and it makes one think on a whole new level. I had wild bees attack my one new hive and they are down in number, but today I went inside the hive and found capped brood, new larvae, and I was as proud as a new parent. How exciting! I'm learning from a Beginner's Beekeeping book. I don't feel I know what I'm doing, but I just try to keep in mind the bees know what they're doing! :) I'm so happy to have found this site this evening!
Welcome to the forum! I'm in south central Indiana - in Greene County. I think you'll find the folks here very helpful and patient with newbees. Best of luck with your bees this year!
Welcome to Beemaster, Dandylion!
Put your location into your profile - it'll help folks if you have questions.
Welcome from a fellow Hoosier.
Welcome to BeeMaster.

Welcome
Welcome!
There are probably more clubs around than you've found. Here's one list:

Let us know where you are and we can connect you to either a local club or nearby beekeeper.
I live 6 miles from the Illinois-Indiana border on I-64. We could be close, but maybe not.
