Title: Please help identify
Post by: mtnb on July 04, 2015, 06:59:12 PM
Went into my hive today. These cells on the bottom of the 4th frame in the bottom deep were the only things that looked out of place. Are these swarm cells? Sorry, the bees got onto the left one but you can see the one towards the middle. Do I need to do something about these? My bees are from a 5 frame nuc I got mid May.

From what I could see. It looks like but comb. Check it in a week and see if the elongate the cells even more.then you will know. The size looks like droon cells.

there are a couple of queen cups there.  you will almost always have a few.  just make a habit of looking in them for larvae when you do your inspections.

Thanks guys. They really looked a lot more elongated in real life than they do in the picture. I compared with pictures on the internet and realize these are not what I thought.
You see some queen cups, 10framer? Those I'm referring to or others?
