Was looking at beekin for dummies Howland Blackiston,says in the first of the year,he installs one on every new overwintered hive was wondering if anyone else uses this. ? ? ? ?

I've got a few (5).  I use them to see if they have any noticeable impact on the respective hives versus hives without (25).  I've not noticed any difference.  I'll keep using them until they rot hoping to find some benefit and as they don't make it harder to inspect or harvest from hives.  But I'll not make any more as to this point I do not see any benefit.

I use them and feel that my hives are better vented in the winter and I get less mold.
