I have one hive with 2 supers and one hive I just started from a nuc in June, that has no supers. If there is enough honey in it when I check them today, can I take a super from the one hive with the bees still in it and place it on the other hive without them killing each other?
Yes
There are no guarantees. Sometimes under the best conditions (a newspaper combine) they fight, but usually they don't. Frames of brood usually aren't an issue. You may or may not get away with a super full of bees and honey. Smoke and confusion are your friend in this undertaking.
Thanks.. I will try to devise a plan!Maybe I could put some Bee-Quick on a board and just run the bees out... the super should air out by the time I can get it to the other hive.
