Does anyone have a ball park idea of how much area on a medium or deep frame will a pint of sugar water cover? Knowing this could help prevent backfilling the brood nest in late winter.
You might be able to get some kind of ball-park figure by comparing the average weights of full combs against the weight of a known volume of syrup, and guestimating from there. It would be very approximate of course, as the water content of syrup is a moving target when in situ - but could be a useful exercise to figure this out, nevertheless.

A quick guesstimate, I came up with about a gallon of 1:1 per frame.
