Title: Fondant
Post by: LKBruns on February 09, 2016, 11:17:21 AM
I realized I used the wrong ratio after I had already cooked my fondant.  I was short water.  I never exceed 240 degrees.  Will this matter and can I still feed it to the bees?

As long as the sugar is dissolved, yes. I have even put dry sugar (on a sheet of paper) directly over the brood frames.  -Mike

x2.
I moisten the sugar in a jar and feed it in a jar like syrup with a queen excluder under the lid to hold the sugar from dropping. The only problem with the moistened sugar is that they drop a lot of it into the oil pans.

Although it boiled.  It never became clear (my first clue I did something wrong).  I held it around 235 degrees for 15 minutes as the recipe said.

It remained grainy and when I ran it in the blender it got clumpy.  Other than that it isn't discolored or any other signs that it was incorrectly made.
