Are three Varroa mites fallen on the sheet in January too many?
gNo. Not even close to worrying about. How long was the board there. If it was only there for a day, your bees are doing pretty good. If it was there for several days they are really doing great. What color are the mites. Are they almost white, male mites, or a light brown, young mites removed before fully developed, or are they a dark brown, adult?

How do you fights with varroa?
Our best weapon against Mites is the bees themselves. Bees have been on this earth for over 100 million years. There species has been here over 250 million years. They have the genetic coding to handles mites and all of the problems they bring with them. The less we treat, the more the bees will do to select queens that produce bees that can handle them. Provide the right amount of space to allow them to build without having a space that is too large to protect and they will prosper.
