Title: Drone comb in new hive
Post by: akwusmc on April 22, 2016, 08:05:25 AM
All,

I checked on the girls yesterday for week 3 ... everything looks good (I did see the queen).

I noticed some capped drone comb ... is that normal for a new package? I looked extra hard for queen cells in case they're looking to replace the queen, and didn't see any. I'll keep my eyes open!

No it is not normal. Were they in worker cells or were they in larger drone cells?
Do you have any capped worker brood?

Then I would not worry about it.
