Josiah,
Welcome to Beemaster. Beautiful country. I grew up in Levittown PA.
My wife and I visited Lancaster 2 years ago. We visited a Amish guy that sells all kinds of wooden bee equipment. If you ask around, you will find lots of Beekeepers around you.

Lots of them do. I've seen some poor management on some farms though. Really crooked hives. Boardman feeders left on even over winter.

I don't think bad management practices are a result of religious orientation ;-)

Have only been into this for a year or and was invited over to a long time beekeepers place for  a visit and was sort of surprised at what I found. Obviously you can have bees and have bad practices....doesn't make it right or preferable but the bees are pretty forgiving of our stupidity.
