Title: Ultra Breeze
Post by: bwallace23350 on May 26, 2016, 05:00:54 PM
People in hot climates it is worth the money. It has taken some heavy bee action and no stings and with the breeze we have had I have had no stings and just wore shorts. Get one if you live in a hot area. It is worth the money.

I am looking to get a similar one from either Brushy Mtn. or Dadant. I can drive to Dadant in KY. It's good to hear that they are worth it. I am trying to get something better that just a veil like I have now.

I can vouch as well.  I've gone with almost nothing underneath to keep cool in the backyard... No way to get you.  Hell, Emil and I did a hornet removal, I wore my wife's suit which is a bit snug on me and didn't get any through the suit... We won't talk about the ones that found their way in!

Ultra breeze is made in the USA as is the lady that sells the one that JP wears... She is right there in New Orleans area.

The other cheaper model is a knock off made in china.  It's just as good... But you know, not made here by our brothers and sisters.

I have had to deal with some NASTY bees in different cut outs. If it were not for my Ultra breeze I could not have completed those jobs. Yes it gets hot here.. it is a bit of a strange sensation to feel the breeze through the suit, like having your zipper down and not knowing it til the breeze blows....

Do you get stung through your suit much and where do you live? Are they AHB?

In 5 years I have not had a sting through my suit, several through thick gloves though.  Got swarmed one time all over my back and no stings.  Well worth the money.  Still on hot day is not cold, just better than no air flow.

I have one. Never been stung through it. I usually only wear it with unknown bees until I find out how they react to being removed or when I work my bees in weather or time that I know will make them defensive.

I have never been stung through the suit. I have failed to have the zipper on the hood velcroed down with a small gap in the zipper....     Strange how the bees seem to be able to instantly find that opening....
NO AHB here yet, though as nasty as these bees were, it would not surprise me in the least to find they had been imported. I had to keep wiping my veil to see to do the cut outs..
I wear a cap to keep the veil off my head. My full suit is slightly too large for me, so that when i bend over it does not get pulled tight..  however, the thickness of the three layers of mesh on the breeze suit is supposed to be thick enough to prevent getting stung...   I try not to test it, but it has worked without fail so far.

jThanks for the reminder about the velcro strap on the hood. I have been stung in the face and it is no fun.

Wait until you get stung inside of your nose. It will make a grown man cry (your eyes water real bad). What is really bad is having to ask your buddy to pick your nose to get the stinger out.    :embarassed:
Had to do that more times than I care to admit.
You get an instant smell of bananas.

I got stung inside the nose 2 days ago and it sure does get all your attention! It was the only sting I got that day but it sure was memorable.

This is the one made in Louisiana. Golden Bee suit

The Ultra Breeze was originally made in Oklahoma. It looks like they may have sold out to a place in Connecticut.

Lets just hope I never take a sting to the nose. I am will always wear the veil to keep that travesty from happening.

Veils aren't fool proof. Trust me. An unnoticed tiny tear in the mesh near a seam taught me that lesson. Check your veil before every use.

Average is overrated
