Title: Blue pollen mystery solved!
Post by: NurseBee on April 21, 2006, 08:14:56 PM
Hello Everyone.      I did a little research on the likely source of the blue pollen----hyacinth!  Found a few articles on pollen research and certain plants in the hyacinthaceae family have blue pollen. One site had photos of  honey bees carrying the same color blue pollen my bees had. Pollen can be bright yellow, brown, tan, green, and yes, even red or blue--all depends on the plant source. Good to know!

Hi, I've read the poppies can also provide for a 'blue' pollen.  :D
